Jeff Dearing, from Dracut, Massachusetts native, joined Salesforce as part of the acquisition of Demandware, bringing his expertise in e-commerce UX to the Customer Success team as a Sr. Principal UX Designer & Strategist. In this role, he conducted over 1,000 customer experience audits, identifying key opportunities that led to significant improvements in business performance. His insights drove measurable results, including a 228% increase in onsite search usage, a 73% boost in basket rates, a 250% rise in conversion, and in some cases, a twofold increase in revenue. Jeff also played a pivotal role in piloting the Commerce Cloud benchmarking program, equipping brands with data-driven insights to strengthen their competitive positioning within the industry.

In 2016, Jeff became a Lead User Experience Designer, where he focused on delivering UX strategies that aligned with business goals and enhanced the overall success of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform. His work contributed to hundreds of customer success stories, with brands achieving notable growth in search engagement, add-to-basket rates, average order value, and revenue—some seeing KPI improvements double in just one month. His efforts also had a direct impact on business development, helping generate $13.9 million in revenue tied to UX services. Jeff maintained a 4.8/5 CSAT score, exceeding Salesforce's goal, while also driving a 32% increase in response rate and a 74% increase in customer engagement. Beyond direct client work, he served as a session leader at major industry events like Dreamforce, Connections, and XChange, hosted webinars on UX best practices, and authored blog content on optimizing digital shopping experiences.

By 2021, Jeff took on a more strategic role as a Sr. Principal UX & Product Designer, where he developed a comprehensive UX audit engagement to evaluate and improve the shopper experience across Commerce Cloud sites. Using journey mapping and data analysis, he provided brands with actionable recommendations to enhance customer experience and meet revenue goals. He led strategic conversations with executives on CX optimization, further cementing his reputation as a leading UX expert within the Salesforce Commerce Cloud ecosystem. Additionally, Jeff contributed to the development of industry reports on e-commerce trends, created high-fidelity designs for B2B reference applications, and designed wireframes for Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions.

Jeff’s time at Salesforce was defined by his ability to blend data-driven UX strategy with business growth initiatives, helping brands achieve measurable success while shaping the future of digital commerce experiences.
